Today’s Street and Sports Tea is about Chris Brown and him having four kids by four different women. The epidemic of becoming a baby mama for economic stability must be discussed. Subscribe to Black American Network to never miss an episode of Street and Sports Tea; let’s talk about it:

Chris Brown is a rumored drug addict and a former abuser, if not an active one. We cannot confirm if he is still fighting or harassing women as he did to his exes Rihanna and Karrueche Tran. You might remember Chris’s first child, Royalty. He has had three more children since then by three different women.

His baby mama, Diamond Brown, dropped the tea on her IG stories, directly tagging Chris Brown’s official Instagram account. She told him to worry about the baby he has on the way, not her! Later in the comments, she added spice to the tea by stating the new baby mama is named Jada. Chris Brown is rumored to have a harem of women who have birthed or aborted his children, or had the sense to never get pregnant.

I dared to ask myself, “What is the benefit of being Chris Brown’s baby mama?,”. Besides giving birth to a child who can say “My dad is Chris Brown,”, there is not much social or financial benefit to balance the drama. The drama of having to fit into his schedule, as he is still an international superstar currently touring, and in legal trouble, overseas.

This is why I say there’s a baby mama epidemic. For many women, becoming a baby mama to an athlete, rapper or entertainer with money is an opportunity to escape poverty or having to perform labor in exchange for payment. Simply, they can shop, party, post on social media, and receive money from a very wealthy man all because she had his baby. The biological term is called short term mating for indirect benefits. This is a short term, high risk strategy because the wealth is usually short term too.

Black American women are typically the main ones participating in this epidemic. However, White American and Latina women currently and proudly use this mating strategy to secure financial freedom for themselves and their families, at least enough to sustain a basic luxury lifestyle. Becoming a baby mama is not something Black American Network supports. Morals aside, the stress and potential backlash from your own child is not worth it. Children grow up to resent their mothers for choosing messed up, absent, violent fathers. Especially sons who feel robbed of a Dad’s love and guidance.

We advise you never to have children without the contract of a marriage license and certificate. Secure a stable future for yourself and your child both physically and mentally. Children need parents who are not touring overseas. Children need fathers who are not facing jail time at all, let alone in another country. Daughters and sons need their dads.
